Whether to frot, to side, or anything else – I have absolutely nothing against penetrative sexual interaction amongst gay men. I also face accusations that I was rejecting all forms of penetrative sexual interaction between men and despise femininity in the gay community. Some went as far as suggesting I must be struggling with internalized homophobia. Writing about being a side before, led to many comments.
YouTuber Davey Wavey recently told GSN, that it’s the lack of more intimate porn that is the reason so many gay and bi men are bad at sex. And I’d love to see gay sex portrayed as something more intimate in the media. But I do think it is a highly sensual act. Now I know, that everyone might not enjoy frotting. I think it’s unfortunate that our sexuality has become so pigeonholed and reduced to something so simple when in reality there are so many ways for gay men to interact sexually. With frotting, one never has to worry about that kind of compatibility in a potential partner. We almost never see this side of gay male-on-male sexuality which has, in turn, led to the obsession our community has with tops and bottoms.
